Children's Village at 50: Community Connection

Our decades of impact are owed in part to the reciprocal relationship between Children’s Village and our vibrant community of families, staff, colleagues, and friends. The families we serve put their trust in us; We foster their child’s love of learning, and we build the critical connection between a child's home and classroom. Our families then give back to us in a myriad of ways.

While we don’t measure the depth of our relationships with our community in numbers, it is exciting to see that more than 20% of dollars donated from individuals last year came from current and former staff, alumni students, and our families.

When asked what inspired her to donate, former CV parent and current Board Member Monet Irving responded:

“CV became an essential part of our family’s support system. We welcomed our first and only daughter during COVID, when our community often felt small. Her teachers cared for her academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs, while also helping us recognize things we may not have known to look for as first-time parents.

For me, donating was the perfect way to pay it forward. I want other families to have the same opportunity we had, to be embraced by the CV community and benefit from all it has to offer.”

With our 50th Anniversary celebrations, we are fundraising for the Children’s Village Legacy Fund. Seeded with donations made in memory of our founder Jim Martin, the Legacy Fund will ensure future generations continue to have access to Children’s Village's high quality childcare, education, and support services they need to thrive.

All proceeds from our online auction will go toward the Children’s Village Legacy Fund. Place a bid here!
