Children's Village at 50: How Our Relationship With Families Is Shaping Our Legacy
Our 50-year legacy isn't just ours — it also belongs to the families who've walked this journey with us.
When families enroll at our center, they become part of our community for years to come. Many children stay with us for three, five, and even up to 12 years as they transition from infant and toddler care, to preschool classrooms, to our Out-of-School time program.
Our connections with families are enduring, continuing long after their children have graduated from our program: alumni have become board members, parents have become teachers, and some families have been part of Children’s Village for multiple generations.
The longevity of the relationship we have with our students and their families is what makes our work so impactful. Sustained family engagement during the earliest years of a child’s life is one of the most powerful predictors of their development. Working alongside families, we build the critical connection between a child's home and classroom through our annual parent education series, weekly ESOL classes for caregivers, and culturally-responsive education.
Our legacy is made possible by the families who trusted us along the way. As we look to the future, nurturing our family partnerships remains at our core.
